End of season report – LV (Tuesday evening)

My first season as captain I am able to report an improvement in the team’s performance. We finished 5^th in 2019 as opposed to 7^th last year winning the overall combined aggregate in four matches (doubling our wins from last year). The highlight of the year was beating the Hesketh Eagles (league winners) in the knockout cup. The handicap was in our favour for this match but against us in the next round versus the Zetland, losing only on the aggregate having matched them 5 games each. But for the handicap we would have been in the final. My thanks to Paul Crummey as vice captain and to the rest of the team for their support throughout the season.
