AGM Summary
This is a brief outline of the AGM held on Saturday, 20 March for those who could not attend. A full electronic copy is available on request, and a hard copy will be displayed on the club notice board in due course.
The AGM was conducted using the ‘Zoom’ web conferencing solution, which was a technical challenge, but I am happy to report that over 40 people members managed to overcome the technical obstacles to join us for the virtual meeting.
In Memoriam
We sadly said goodbye to three of our members – Burt Barwise, Tony Francis, and very recently Ray Hustings; all will be missed. A one minutes silence was observed.
Chairman’s report
Ted outlined how the club has changed and improved over the last ten years. He thanked our many volunteers for their contributions during 2020, particularly Gayle and Dave Gordon for setting up and running our online booking system, for which they were awarded club members of the year.
Treasurer’s report
Dave Spratt began by proposing a vote of thanks to Ted and the lovely Doreen from the entire membership. They were presented with flowers and a bottle of whisky.
Dave presented a wonderful report, explaining how the finances fared in what was an extraordinary year.
Elections
The officers and committee were duly elected with Susan Mountford taking over as Chairman, and Denise Harvey as Secretary. Dave Spratt will remain as Treasurer. The Committee comprises Noreen Lewis, Carole Wilson, Irene Kermode, Paul Crummey, Norman Barker, Dave Gordon, Dave Woodall, and Ian Goulding.
Subscriptions
Susan announced that all members who had paid their 2020 subscriptions would have them carried forward to 2021. Those who did not pay last year will be due to pay £50, and new members £35 for the first 12 months.
Donations
In order to continue to improve club facilities such as the building security and green-keeping equipment, Susan requested that members make a voluntary donation of £20.
