VPBC FIRST 2020 CLUB COMPETITION (Sunday, 9 August)
A lovely day was had by all 24 competitors (and a few spectators) in a randomly drawn mixed pairs format. 21 up scratch games with first round losers entered into the consolation competition. This produced some excellent pairings and very close highly skilled matches.
The main Competition losing semi-finalists were Kath Halpin & Peter Hartley plus Denise Harvey & Don Devey. The final saw Pat Lough & John Townsend lose to worthy winners Sue Davies & Mike McCormick. Well done CHAMPS!
The Consolation losing semi-finalists were Margaret Barker & Allen Mountford plus Noreen Lewis & Norman Barker, with the finalists Sue Mountford & Gary Burgess eventually losing to Deborah Herold & John Ashcroft.
Sue Mountford was warmly thanked for organising her first competition very well indeed.
NB THE NEXT COMPETITION WILL BE ON SUNDAY 13 SEPTEMBER.
