Aughton Mixed B – Captain’s Report
After a somewhat shaky start to the season, we lost our first three games, a resurgent Victoria Park ‘B’ team has stormed up the table in the Aughton and District mixed league. With eight consecutive wins and a total of nine wins out of our last ten games we have consolidated third place after beating second placed Mere Brow ‘B’ and reducing their lead over us from 10 points to four points to conclude the first half of the season.
This is an unprecedented achievement and I would like to thank the squad for their endeavors and consistency.
I would also like to thank my vice captain Les Appleton for his assistance at matches and for producing the weekly analysis sheet which helps me to make selection decisions.
I would also like to mention the two ladies, Lynne Lancaster and Noreen Lewis who joined us at the beginning of the season and have now settled in and are fast becoming an integral part of the team and a valuable asset.
Taking advantage of a free date due to a team dropping out I organised a mid season review/practice match which was very well attended and would like to thank all concerned for their continued support and enthusiasm – promotion is not beyond us.
Thank you once again
Pete Banahan – Captain VPBC ‘B’
