Mixed Pairs Competition Report

Your intrepid secretary and event organiser managed yet again to pick a sunny day for the Mixed Pairs Handicap Event. He also managed to match some single entrants with partners, four ‘matched’ pairs eventually making both finals.

It was great to see some new members joining the event. I’m not detracting in any way from our superb finalists (the standard of play was very high throughout), but many members commented on the excellent atmosphere throughout the day. With 13 pairs competing it was the best turnout this competitor has seen for this event. Add in the tea, cakes and fruit provided by my other half, it made for a brilliant day out for just £2!

Winners of the main comp were Gary and Carole with Dave and Rita winning the reserve cup. Congratulations!
