Founded in 1899, we are one of the oldest crown green bowling clubs in Southport and well established with excellent facilities.
We have two good sized bowling greens, with at least one green available (weather permitting) throughout the year. The greens are well maintained by specialist greens treatment and mowing contractors.
With some mixed 150 members, the club has an active social programme. There is a good sized pavilion with tea-making and toilet facilities plus a convenient car park for members use.
The club enters two ladies and seven men’s teams in local leagues, plus a mixed Indoor team during the winter months. All league players must have a BCGBA membership card available before joining a team.
We also organise several club trophy and social bowling competitions during the season open to all members.
We have a reputation for being a very friendly and welcoming club; with social membership available for those seeking friendship rather than competition.
Registered as a Community Amateur Sports Club, our main purpose is to provide facilities for, and promote participation in, crown green bowling for the whole community irrespective of age, gender, religion, race or ability.
We are also in partnership with Age UK Lancashire, a local charity dedicated to helping all older people in Lancashire to have valued and fulfilling lives.
Like them we think older age should be fun, rewarding and something to cherish, to that end we host a number of activities to help older people live their lives to the full.
For the new bowler or those a little out of practice we hold regular social bowling sessions throughout the year.
The club also organises the hotly contested crown green bowls competition which is a feature of the Southport Flower Show
All the family can play Crown Green Bowls, from grandchildren to grandparents and it is a great way for making new friends.
It is a non-contact sport which is enjoyed by all, including people with disabilities.
Victoria Park Bowling Club is a registered Community Amateur Sports Club. (CASC Ref CH10135)
