President’s Day – August 2022

I was delighted to welcome 38 bowlers to my Presidents Day at VPBC on 7 August 2022.

The weather was great, both greens in tip top condition and the standard of bowling at a good level.

The main competition semis featured Debbie Barnes & Haydn Preece, and Sheila Mo and John Ashcroft.  In the final Irene Kermode & Don Devey, who had been in fine form all day, defeated Margaret Tinsley and Paul Crummey.

The Consolation Competition was won by Janet Maxwell and Mike McCormick.

This was Paul McCabe’s first competition – many thanks to him and to our wonderful ladies – the amazing (How do they do it all !?) Sheila Mo, Sue Davies, and Sue Mountford for keeping us fed and watered all day.

The amount raised on the day for the Irrigation fund was £231.

This included a £1 pp nearest the bottle game – also won by Don Devey.
