Newsletter – March 2022
Hi everyone, I thought it was time to bring you up to date on what is happening in your Club. Firstly, can I thank the very many Members who attended the AGM; it was lovely to see so many of you in person and have a pleasant catch up.
It is nearly time to reopen the greens and get back to what we all enjoy. The greens will be opening on the Saturday, 26 March if weather conditions allow.
Round Robins
The ever-popular Round Robins will resume on Saturday, 26 March; arrive before 1.30pm. The Round Robins will run on Tuesdays and Saturdays throughout the season. In addition, we will be having a Round Robin on Fridays at 2pm for our newer bowlers so that they can gain confidence before joining the main Round Robins. If there is enough interest, we will run another on a Tuesday or Thursday morning.
League Bowling
League bowling will resume in April, and all fixtures and away green locations can be found on our website as well as home matches and other events. You can check on the calendar when the greens are available for social play. As we have two greens it will be rare for both greens to be reserved for a match or other event.
Winter bowling
All the winter activities have now finished or will be very soon. The Tuesday league on Ormskirk all weather green was very challenging, but I think everyone enjoyed it. In the other winter league Dave Gordon’s team Cobra Kai (pictured below) finished top of the league so well done to them all.
The games on Tuesday will finish on 22 March and the indoor bowling at Dunes will finish on 23 March. Both have been very enjoyable.
I don’t think there is anything else I need to tell you except that I look forward to seeing you all on the green very soon!
