Ladies Singles competition – Sunday, 20 September

It was another lovely September afternoon for our ladies singles competition on Sunday. We had 17 entrants in total, and played the early rounds in a round robin format.

This produced six group winners going straight through to the knockout stages, joined by the two highest scoring losers, making a total of eight progressing to the quarterfinals of the main comp.

In the main competition, Sue Davies and Janice Hobson lost in the semi-finals to Irene Kermode and Noreen Lewis, with Noreen winning a hard fought final – well done!

The remaining nine players entered a consolation competition on Green 2. Susan Mountford and Carole Wilson lost out to Denise Harvey and Margaret Barker in the semi- finals, with Denise the eventual winner.

There were some very close games, and everyone had an enjoyable day 🙂
