Crown Green v Flat Green Annual Challenge Match – Report

18 VPBC members welcomed 18 hardy souls from Southport Bowling Club on Saturday 8th September for the now annual FLAT v CROWN MATCH. Sadly it was raining heavily but we managed to get the 9 games of Crown Green pairs going using both greens at Victoria Park- 8 were won by home pairs.

We then moved over to Kings Gardens for a delicious lunch but their waterlogged green meant that the “second half” could not take place.  The friendly relationship between the clubs was nevertheless happily reinforced over a lovely lunch at SBC.

Hopefully a suitable day to play at Kings Gardens can be found so we can complete the match.
